Carry Arms Is Not In Our Agenda For Now – FRSC
On Monday, the FRSC (Nigerian Federal Road Safety Corps) advice Nigerians to overlook the rumors goes around that the FRSC has started dispense the weapons to their workforce.

The FRSC Head of Media Relations and Strategy, Mr. Bisi Kazeem make it known that the reports was a rumour which spreads by mischievous elements, trying to confusion people.

He said some people misquoted the recent statement of Boboye Oyeyemi, the Corps Marshal of FRSC which is out of the agenda.

Mr. Oyeyemi was only lamenting based on the 70 marshal who lost their lives this year. He said

Mr. Kazeem said: “The Corps Marshal only stipulated that such a high number of loses could have been avoided if FRSC personnel were carrying arms as allowed by the law.

“But, he quickly added that there is no immediate plan to implement the law that permits the officials to carry arms.

“It is unfortunate that some wicked people now took that to mean that he said officials are now being armed; it is a figment of their imagination.”

Mr. Kazeem said some pictures are been spreads on social media showing some road safety officials training by Nigerian Army on how to handle weapons.

He explained that the picture was brings out from a training which occurred since 1992, during the government of former President Ibrahim Babangida and it was forms as if it was a fresh training.

The Head of FRSC stated: “We have never put the exercise as part of the general practice of our operation and we have no plans of implementing it in the nearest future.”

He make it known that the FRSC has not distributes any arms to anybody, saying it not part of their recent agenda.
