A 1st class graduate of Petroleum Engineering from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State identified as Ukeme Monday Asuquo reportedly died on Thursday, December 1, 2016, while serving the nation in Zamfara State.

It was made known that the deceased was committed to mother earth at Ikot Udo Oto village in Etinan Local Government Area of the state.

His death was caused by diarrhoea at the orientation camp National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara.

The funeral service for the deceased was attended by engineering students of the University of Uyo.

It was gathered that the Transition Committee of Etinan LGA, Cletus Ekpo, the member Representing Etinan State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Aniefiok Dennis,followed by the Chairman,the NYSC members in Etinan and state representatives, family members and relations of the late corps member could not hold back tears as they eulogised his virtues.

Two other corps members, Chinyerum Nwenenda Elechi and Ifedolapo Oladepo also died in the orientation camps in Bayelsa and Kano States and this has made the President Muhammadu Buhari to order a probe into the circumstances surrounding the death of Asuquo and the other two.
