Unknown assailants hack 18 farmers to death
An unknown assailants has been arrested for allegedly hacked 18 farmers to death on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Dan-anacha in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba on Sunday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the offence is the number one bloody attacks which occurred in the state.

Mr David Misal,the State Police Public Relations Officer said while cinfirming the incident that the police would soon release the actual number of casualties in the attack.

He added:

“Actually, I cannot lie to you there are casualties, but we will release the figures later after we might have finish combing the area.

“It was an undercover attack by some unidentified people in the area,”

Mr Dooior Torkula,the acting Chairman of Concerned Taraba Tiv Youth Frontier said that 12 corpses were recovered in Dan-Anacha not long after the attack of 18 persons which were killed in separate attacks.

The chairman added that two bodies were recovered in a farm while four bodies were recovered from the Borno- Kruku road on the outskirts of Dan-Anacha.

It was reported that 18 suffered serious injury after the assailants broke into the homes of the victims and murdered them in their sleep.

The chair man also added that the bodies were recovered at about 3 am on Sunday and that calm had returned to the area following the arrival of armed mobile policemen.

The policemen are currently patrolling the area to enforce law and order,punch reports.
