On Wednesday, the customs official warned Nigerians that the rice was dangerous for human consumption.
According to report, the suspect has been smuggled illegal products from different country through ships while he shipped the plastic rice from China into Nigeria through Lagos port.
The total bag of fake rice's which was collects from him is 102 bags, planning to sell it ahead of Christmas and New Year festival.
When examined, the plastic rice had no date of manufacture, while the official said on condition of mystery.
Mohammed Haruna, the Ikeja area customs controller said "We have done a preliminary analysis of the plastic rice. After boiling, it was sticky and only God knows what would have happened if people consumed it,"
President Buhari has recently put a bans on rice importation, in order to boost the Nigerian local production.
The Customs controller said the plastics rice was to be sold ahead of Christmas and New Year festival with a lower price that will hits the roof.
The fake rice had been transferred by the customs to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control for further analysis.
