The State Police Command carry out operation based on reports from people saying that some youths has blocked the road that links Bauchi, Birnin Kudun and Baimaina town together.
Abdul Jinjiri, the state Police Relations Officer confirmed the arrested when in Kano, during a radio programme.
The Superintendent of Police, SP. Jinjiri disclosed that the PDP members were arrested for blocking the links road, dismissing the accusation that they were arrested because they belonged to the opponent party.
He noted: “We don't know whether they are PDP members, but we got an intelligence report that there were hundreds of youths who blocked the road linking Bauchi, Birnin Kudu and Baimaina town with local weapons such as sticks, cutlasses, swords and other dangerous weapons terrorising motorists.”
SP. Jinjiri claiming that the PDP party members did not seek for permission from Mr. Latunde Akintunde, the state Commissioner of Police before conducting the political rally.
He said that the arrests of the party members will assist the police command in their investigation, saying that those found guilty will be charge to court while innocent people will be released immediately.
