According to Mr. Demi Joseph, the Police Public Relation Officer who disclosed this said that the state police command arrested each cultist at different location in the state capital, Akure.
He mention the suspects which include Uche Odoh, 30-year-old man, Ajibola Olanrewaju, 25-year-old, Haruna Friday 18-year-old, Mathew Ogu, 36-year-old, John Isaac, 18-year-old, Omotoso Shina, 26-year-old and Ekene Ereozo, 25-year-old
While other suspects are, Adejuyigbe Josua, 22-year-old, Alaba Raji, 19-year-old, Tayo Agboola, 22-year-old, Orebe Boluwaji, 33-year-old, Oluwadar Akinbobola, 17-year-old, Oluwaseun Olajide, 21-year-old, Adesina Olasunkanmi 18–year-old and Olamiju Abioudun, 25-year-old.
Officer Joseph said: “The suspects were arrested at different locations in Akure. During the routine patrol of our men to ensure that we had peaceful Christmas and new year celebration, the suspects were arrested in their different hideouts in the town,
“Some of them were arrested during the initiations of new members into their cult groups while some were arrested while holding their meetings.”
The Relation Officer noted that the suspects were captured with various dangerous weapons likes axes, cultlases, matchetes, cut-to-size locally-made pistols, charms among others and other things.
Mr. Joseph further disclosed that the cultist members were kept in the prison custody and their case had been charged to court.
