Herdsmen, Resident Clashes In Adamawa, Three Policemen killed, Two Missing
Following the clashes of herdsmen and resident in Kway¬ine, Gidan Dadi and Karlahi communities over killing of 47 cattle, the Nigeria police High Command confirmed that three Mobile Policemen were killed while others two vanished in the battle.

According to report, some suspected herdsmen attacks residents in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State, while the policemen went to settle the clashed but during the battle three of the MOPOL were killed and two are missing.

SP. Othman Abubakar, the command's Public Relation Officer, confirmed the incident and disclosed it to newsmen in the capital of the state, Yola claiming that some policemen were also missing in the battle.

He said: “Fulani militia at¬tacked the three villages and we lost three of our gallant MOPOL while two are missing.

“We have constituted a high powered search team and by the special grace of God we are go¬ing to recover our men.

“On the side of the ci¬vilians, two bodies have so far been recovered”,

SP. Abubakar said the state policemen had killed some suspected military, while some were able to escape with their dead ones.

He said the state police command had works on resident protection in the area by sending more policemen to the affected areas.

According to Abubakar, the government assigning team on peace building mission visits the incident which occurred less than a day.

While the State Governor, Muhammad Bindow condemned the attacks in his statement signed by Mallam Ahmad Sajoh, the state Commissioner of Information and Strategy.

In the statement, governor Bindow said the his government had directed security agencies to the area, while described the incident as regrettable which occurred following peace in the state.

The Commissioner said “The governor feels highly disturbed that after he had sent dele¬gations on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday to interface with the different com¬munities in the area, a clash could occur so soon thereafter.”

Mr. Sajoh urged the resident in the affected area to allow peace to reign in the community, while called on the government to put more effort to restore peace and protect the lives of every citizen.
