The Ilaje residents shown their praised during the Airtel Nigeria awareness campaign in their area.
According to report, Airtel Nigeria was in partnership with LSACA (Lagos State AIDS Control Agency), helping in educating, counseling and providing free test for the state residents over HIV/AIDS, while also assists in distribution of medications and materials to the community residents.
During the campaign, about 80 testers and counselors attended to the residents, while a lot of people benefits from the awareness campaign in the community.
Following the awareness campaign which was aimed to preserve the lives of members of the community, Lanre Babalola, a resident of Ilaje community praised the Airtel Nigeria for visiting their community.
Mr. Babalola said: “I am very happy that Airtel is in our community today because it feels good to be giving service to a community that is less serviced. Things like this rarely happen for us here and today Airtel has put a smile on our faces”.
Bishop Okoro, another resident stated “I love Airtel because they have remembered little people like us who live in this area. We at Ilaje are usually forgotten but today a large corporate organisation like Airtel Nigeria has remembered us”.
In a statement issued by Chief Oladipupo Arowojulu, the Baale of Ilaje community stated that previously Ilaje community suffered by health problem, while the visits of Airtel in partnership with LSACA saved them.
Baale Arowojolu noted: “Health is wealth and with this HIV/AIDS awareness we are given a chance at a better and healthier life. With Airtel's help, Ilaje and Otubara community will pursue good health in order to preserve the lives of members of our community”.
The Baale praised Airtel Nigeria, saying that all Nigerians need a place to received well treatment and be counseling.
