University of Ibadan in Nigeria, alongside 24 top universities in Africa, have featured in the Times Higher Education's World University Rankings 2016-2017.
The university was the only one in Nigeria that made the list of top 25 Universities in Africa ranking at 801 in the world
According to Times Higher Education, the best universities in Africa span nine countries, from Uganda in the east to Nigeria in the west, Morocco in the north to South Africa in the south of the continent.
But South Africa and Uganda are the only two countries with universities in the top 500.

It was gathered that 13 different indicators, measuring from teaching, research, research impact, innovation and international outlook were used to rank the universities.
Overall, Egypt and South Africa are the two best represented African countries in the ranking, with eight universities each.
