BREAKING: Adama Barrow sworn in as The Gambia President in Senegal
President-elect Adama Barrow has been sworn in as The Gambia's president at his country's embassy in neighbouring Senegal.

Sheriff Tambadou, president of the Gambian Bar Association administered the oath taking.

As it stands, Adama Barrow and Yahya Jammeh both claim to be presidents of The Gambia as the former refuses to vacate the seat.

Reports has it that Jammeh is currently surrounded only by foreign mercenaries and Casamance rebels.

Reports said that as tension continued to mount, the wife and children of the outgoing Gambian president, Yahya Jammeh allegedly abandoned him and have equally fled the country's capital of Banjul

The president-elect tweeted from his official account:

Both the country's vice president, Isatou Njie Saidy, the army led by its chief, Ousman Badjie and a lot of others have also abandoned Jammeh.
