JAMB to begin sale of 2017 UTME forms

JAMB to begin sale of 2017 UTME forms
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), is set to announce the commencement of sale of 2017/2018 admission forms for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE), which is long-awaiting, this was disclosed after agreeing on a harmonized timetable with other examination bodies in the country.

This agreement was reached at the national headquarters of the Board in Abuja on Tuesday, after a meeting with National Examination Council (NECO), West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Business and Technical Examination (NABTEB).

In a statement released afterwards by JAMB's Head of Information, Fabian Benjamin, the body explained that the harmonized examination timetable, will solve problems arising from overlapping of examination dates, which has disenfranchised a lot of candidates.

It was also resolved that WAEC would speak to all its authorities that from 2018, between March and April, a window of two weeks would be created where all other examinations that have nothing to do with Nigeria will be written, to allow JAMB conduct its examination.

“The bodies agreed that for the purpose of the 2017 UTME, JAMB will shift its examinations to allow students face WAEC, NECO and NABTEB,” part of the statement read.

A 10-day window for JAMB'S UTME has been created by all examination bodies for the body to conduct its examination.

However, JAMB has also warned that whoever is presently collecting any money for JAMB forms should be reported to the Police or any other security agency as a fraudster.
