Comptroller general, Nigeria customs Service, Col. Hameed Ali (retd.), has informed the Senate that he would not appear before the lawmakers on Wednesday, March 15.

The letter was signed by an assistant comptroller general.

The senate dismissed the letter and told Hameed he must appear tomorrow in uniform. The lawmakers also condemned Ali for relegating the Senate and for failing to personally sign the letter.

Further, the Senate had also threatened to recommend the Hameed Ali for the sack if he fails to obey its order on the suspension of the policy on the collection of duties on old vehicles.

The ruffles between the senate and the customs boss started when Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West senatorial district moved a motion during plenary on Thursday, March 9 that the Customs boss must be called to order.

He prayed that Hameed Ali should be re- summoned and made to appear live in plenary and not before senate committee on customs. He must also be in Customs uniform.
