Mr. Mohammed, the vice-principal of a secondary school at Tunga in Minna was held in prison for allegedly impregnated a 16-year-old student.

The Vice Principal was denied bail at the former Magistrate's Court 8 in Minna, after confessing that he went through the girl but did not release in her virgina.

When interrogating at the court, Mr. Muhammed denied the pregnancy of the girl, saying that he is not responsible for it.

At the court, Muhammed Mustapha, the lawyer for the suspect appealed for his bail and told the court that the suspect did not sleep with the pupil.

The lawyer pleaded: “In view of this, we humbly make an oral application for his bail before the court under the inheritance and rights jurisdiction of the court,”

Mr. Mustapha begs the court to grant the suspect bail, claiming that in 1999 Constitution as amended, oral application for bail was premised on sections 34, 35 and 36.

Corporal Hussaini Paiko, the police prosecutor told the court that police investigation is still going on, so the issue cannot be changed.

Following the speech of the two prosecutors, Fati Auna, the Senior Magistrate at the court refused the oral application of the suspect bail and ordered the suspect to remain in prison till further arrangement.

He postponed the case till April 26.
