According to NAN, the deportees were banished from Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Luxembourg, Austria, Belgium, Spain and Hungary. Following the recent cast out of 40 Nigerians from Italy by the Italian government based on the same offence.
The deportees: which are 48males and 2 females arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos with a chartered Privileged Time aircraft, with registration number EC-L20 at about 7.36 a.m on Thursday.
DSP Joseph Alabi, the spokesman of Lagos Airport Police Command reports the news to NAN.
He said: “This morning, we received 50 Nigerians who were brought back from Europe.
“We had three males from Switzerland; from Germany, we had seven males; from Sweden, we had four males, from Luxembourg, we had six males; from Austria, we had 18, comprising of 17 males and one female.
“From Belgium, we had only one female; from Spain, we had five males and finally from Hungary, we had six males, which makes it a total of 50.''.
In the spokesman's statement, he mentioned that the Nigerians must have committed illegal immigration offences, which made the host government to deport them.
He also disclosed that the people were welcomed by the Nigerian Immigration Service officers, Lagos state policemen, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Human Trafficking.
We gathered that after been interrogated, the deportees were grant freedom to their various destinations.
