One of his followers raised some points, countering the senator and he replied that he was talking about manufacturing not marketing.
According to him, if Nike had been persuaded to manufacture the jerseys in Nigeria instead of Asia, it would have been a win win situation for all.
He added that everything is not politics as he was only trying to make common sense.
In an earlier report by , Super Eagles official kit sponsors Nike confirmed that they received orders to produce about three million Super Eagles replicas for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The three-time African champions launched the jersey they will wear in Russia, a couple of months back in London. They used the jersey in their international friendly games against Poland and Serbia in March – in which they defeated the Polish national team but weren’t strong enough to avoid defeat against the Serbians.
