Colombian footballer assassinated while partying with teammates in possible “crime of passion”

Colombian footballer Alejandro Penaranda was shot to death as he partied with his team-mates, The Sun, quoting Marca.
The 24-year-old’s teammate Heissen Izquierdo was also injured in the attack and rushed to hospital on Friday, June, 1.
According to Spainish media outlet Marca, a lone gunman was the author of the attack against the footballers.

The players was said to have reportedly gathered at Cristian Borja’s house for a party when the unfortunate incident happened.
General of the Metropolitan Police Hugo Casos said: “The facts were presented in the early hours of this Friday around 12:40am.
“There were several football players at a party, until a man came asking for a woman and seconds later he jumped the fence of the front yard and began shooting.
“We are working with the General Police of the National, since it is a challenge for us to know the motives behind this assassination attempt.”
Borja escaped unharmed with his mother as the duo witnessed the tragic incident as it occurred.
