Ex Nigeria international reveals the only problem Super Eagles will face in their campaign at the Russia 2018 World Cup
– Samson Siasia believes Super Eagles will have goalkeeping problem in Russia
– He is of the opinion that Rohr should not have used only one goalkeeper in the friendlies games Nigeria played
– Siasia claimed the Super Eagles coach should have also tested Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi
Former Super Eagles handler Samson Siasia has stated clearly that the major problem Gernot Rohr’s men will have at the Russia 2018 World Cup will be at the goalkeeping department.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will start on Thursday, June 14, but Nigeria who are three time African champions will wait till Saturday before they will face Croatia in their first game.
Samson Siasia who was part of the Super Eagles squad that played at the 1994 World Cup is now worried about the choice of Gernot Rohr using only one goalkeeper.
“I am so worried about the goalkeeping because it has always been Francis Uzoho in goal throughout the warm-up games.
“My fear now is what if Uzoho got injured during or before the World Cup? I don’t think the coach has a serious trust in the two other goalkeepers (Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi),” Siasia told SuperSport.
Before Nigeria got to Russia, the Super Eagles played two friendlies against England and Croatia in which they lost the two games.
Nigerians are now waiting for Saturday, June 16, to come for them to see how the performance of the Super Eagles will be in their first game against Croatia.
