Architect Audu Sule Katagum has been nominated by Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi state as his new deputy governor.
Daily reports reports that the governor disclosed the nomination of Katagum at a gathering at the Government House Bauchi.
Governor Abubakar reportedly said Katagum’s name had been forwarded to the state House of Assembly for confirmation as required by law.

The special adviser to Governor Abubakar on media and strategy confirmed that Katagum had been nominated as the new deputy governor of Bauchi state.
Katagum was nominated to replace Engineer Nuhu Gidado who resigned from the position on Wednesday, May 23. Gidado who sent his letter to Governor Abubakar, cited waning desire in the job as his reason for resigning.
Governor Abubakar accepted the resignation of his deputy. In a statement sent to , the special adviser, media and strategy to the governor, Ali Ali, said the governor wished Gidado well in his future endeavours. He described his tenure and service to the state as meritorious and therefore, deserving commendation.
