fractureing: Explosion hits Mubi town in Adamawa, 1 slayed as 2 others are injured
The Adamawa commissioner for information and strategy, Ahmad Sajoh, confirmed on Sunday, June 10, that a boy was killed while two other residents were injured following an explosion in Mubi town.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quotes Sajoh as saying in Yola, the capital of the state, that the explosion suspected to be from an Improvise Explosive Device (IED) occurred at a scrap materials gathering point along kabang area of the town.

“It’s not a suicide attack as being speculated. It involved three children gathering scrapped metals.
“One of boys, Saidu Ahmed picked up the device which exploded immediately killing him and injuring his two friends who are now receiving treatment at the Mubi General Hospital.
“Parents of the affected children have been identified,” Sajoh said.
The report said he urged for more vigilance by the public and the need to caution children on picking strange objects to avoid a repeat of the incident.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of Adamawa police command, SP Othman Abubakar, said the law enforcement agency was working on a theory that the explosive might have been given to the children by somebody to take to the metal gathering point.
earlier reported that the Borno command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), on Sunday, June 10, confirmed that tragedy was averted when a bomber heading to the market mistakenly detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) killing himself alone.
The commissioner of police, Damian Chukwu, who confirmed the incident in a statement released in Maiduguri, said the incident occurred on Saturday, June 9, at about 7:20 pm at the Monday Market general area.
