fractureing: Police invite Saraki for questioning
Senate president Bukola Saraki has been invited by the police over the deadly robbery that took place at Offa, Kwara state.
The Senate president was invited to answer to allegations surrounding his links to the armed robbers behind the deadly robbery in April, Daily Trust reports.
Jimoh Moshood, the force public relations officer disclosed this in Abuja on Sunday, June 3 while parading 22 suspects in custody for the robbery.
According to Moshood, Saraki will be interrogated over his relationship with the suspects arrested in connection with the robbery.
Nine policemen and 33 persons including two pregnant women were killed and millions of naira stolen during the April 5, Offa bank robbery stunned Nigeria.
Ayodele, one of the suspects and acclaimed leader of the robbery gang was reported to have alleged that they were political thugs of Saraki and have been working for him since when he was governor of Kwara state.
The Senate president is to report to the Louis Edet House, police force headquarters in Abuja for questioning.
