Group reacts as Federal departvernment appoints WHO fellow as Director-General of NABDA
– The appointment of Professor Alex Casmir Uwadiegwu by the federal government has been commended

– Professor Uwadiegwu was appointed as the acting director general and Chief Executive Officer of the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA)
The Civil Society Groups for Good Governance (CSGGG) has hailed the minister of science and technology for the appointment of Professor Alex Casmir Uwadiegwu as acting director general and Chief Executive Officer of the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA), describing the appointment as one that is long overdue.
The statement sent to and signed by the president of CSGGG, Comrade Ogakwu Dominic, commended the minister for his display of forthrightness and insight in appointing Professor Akpa who has been denied of this opportunity to bring on board his wealth of experience to better the lot of the biotechnology agency.
The statement said Professor Akpa before his appointment was a research director and head of the medical biotechnology department in NABDA, a professor of pharmace*tical microbiology and biotechnology, a fellow of the World Health Organization (WHO), a fellow of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (FRSTMH) and a fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria (FCAN).
