June 12: Give Abiola’s family all his outstanding entitlement – Sowore, Agbakoba tell Buhari
– The publisher of Sahara Reporters Omoyele Sowore has spoken about the President Buhari’s declaration of June 12 as Democracy Day
– Omoyele said President Buhari should give Abiola’s family all his outstanding entitlements
– He also said those found to have been involved in the annulment of the June 12, 1993 election should be punished
A presidential aspirant in the 2019 general election and publisher of Sahara Reporters Omoyele Sowore, on Tuesday, June 12, declared that President Muhammadu Buhari does not deserve any praise over the for proclaiming June 12 as Democracy Day.
Nigerian Tribune reports that Sowore made this known while speaking to 25th anniversary in commemoration of June 12 election won by Bashorun MKO Abiola, but which was later annulled by the regime of military president Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.
The Sahara Reporters publisher, however, said President Buhari should ensure that all outstanding entitlements belonging to the late Abiola family, while those found to have been involved in the annulment of the election be punished as those that betrayed Abiola were still having a good time in the country.

According to him, “All his outstanding entitlement should be paid to his family and those that annulled the election should be punished because those that betrayed Abiola are still having a good time in the country.
“I see his June 12 declaration as a political game and going to backfire the same way Jonathan was when he tried to name UNILAG after Abiola. Buhari cannot deceive us that he like Abiola because he did nothing when his election was annulled.”
On his party, a former president, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Olisa Agbakoba, on his part, said there was no reason for jubilation over the declaration of June 12 as Democracy Day.
