President Muhammadu Buhari again met with service chiefs behind closed-door on Tuesday, June 5. At the time of this report, the meeting was said to be holding inside the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Daily Sun reports that President Buhari is expected to appraisal the security situation in the country at the meeting.
“In attendance at the meeting are the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mohammed Babagana Monguno, minister of defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, the director general of the NIA, Ahmed Abubakar, and Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris.
“This follows an earlier meeting on Monday (June 4) where President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo held separate meetings with the security chiefs,” the report said.
On Monday, June 4, Buhari met with some security chiefs and heads of agencies before Osinbajo met with them.
Those at the meeting included the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, the director-general of the Department of State Security (DSS), Lawal Daura; and the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami.
The meetings were held behind closed doors.
