In the Ongoing Continuous Voters registration in Kogi State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) disclosed that a total number of 61,075 voters has been registered in the state.

This was disclosed by Professor James Apam , the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner during a meeting hold between a stakeholders and Political parties at commission's headquarter in Lokoja.

The Commissioner told all the stakeholders and parties that 31, 438 Male and 29,637 Female voters were registered.

He said:

“The commission have also distributed 8,176 permanent voters card, while those that are yet to be collected amounts to 282,747.

“We have also replaced 3, 260 damaged card and transfer 2,189”

.

According to him, a new centers has been approved by INEC at Ganaja village in Ajaokuta Local Government,Zango Daji in Adavi Local government,Obajana in Lokoja local Government Area,Akutupa Kiri in Kabba Bunu Local Government ,Ojoku in Ankpa local government and Anyigba in Dekina local government for the INEC voters registration exercise in the state.

When speaking, Mr.Apam urged all stakeholders to support the commission of sensitisation against multiple registration in the ongoing voters registration exercise.

The overall Registration Centers across the 21 Local Government in Kogi State now equals 27 registration Voters centers.
