INEC( lndependent Electoral Commission )disclosed that Kwara state will not make use of card readers for their oncoming elections in November.

Dr AbdukRahman Ajidagba, the INEC chairman said this on Friday in Ilorin in a meeting which consist of 30 representatives of each registered political parties.

At the meeting, Dr Ajidagba said that about 16 local governments in the state have been scheduled for the elections.

He said that even Kwara state residents are not bouyant to use card readers for the election.

Dr. Ajidagba stated;

“We abandoned the use of card readers for the local government elections to avoid hitches that may occur from the machines while the elections are in progress.”

When asked about rig in election,he promised to conduct a credible, reliable and fair election even without the card readers.

He said that political parties has a major roles to play in conducting good and perfect election, while he ask for the cooperation and support of each registered political parties in the oncoming election.

Dr. Ajidagba urge each parties representatives not to raise violence or bloodshed before, during and after the elections.

According to him, the date for the election will soon be release, and a fully preparation of stakeholders are expected to be made.
